I am the proud owner of a kona kula supreme frame.
and I want to install a phil wood bb with a middleburn crank.
cn someone explain to me what those sizes on this site mean? Visit My Website
and wich I have to choose maybe, thx.
tech
What year of Kula Supreme frame do you have? I'll need that info to tell you what size shell it has.

For the axle you'll have to ask the crank folks, but first we need to nail down the BB shell.
moaner
COOL. instant reply.

that is the 2008 frame for me.
tech
You have a 73mm BB shell. You're going to want to pick and axle that'll give a 51mm front chainline.

all the wood square taper BB are 68mm. I can't use them on my bike, correct?
tech
Well it's hard to tell from that site if they carry any, There are 73s that they make. With all the tandem stuff they do it would be a huge hole if they only had 68s.

Yeah they make them. Check out the Phil Wood website. It's all square taper stuff though.

I found 2 options but I don't know the difference.
I allready know it has te be a 73x113.

I mailed to middleburn, maybe they know what type is right...

tech
If I had to guess I'd say 113, but I've never seen one of those cranks over here so that's a real stab in the dark.
moaner
the bottom bracket for this kona has to be 73 x 113 JIS for a middleburn square taper crank.
now I just have to know the treading in the frame?

thx.

almost there.

if there is someone who knows where to buy such a bb?
tech
The threading in your frame is English.

It might be a lot easier to just take the frame and cranks to your bike shop and ask them to find the bit that connects the two. Somehow I got the impression you were able to purchase the BB from the site you put up in the first post. If that's not the case or they don't have the size you want then a bunch of random folks on the net saying "hey I can get that from XXX" when that's a spot ont he other side of the world won't get you rolling. Any shop's going to have a catalog from their parts supply of BBs and hubs and other parts that they have easy access too.

A BB with the dimensions of what you want is scarer now than ten years ago for sure buy by no means is it as rare as something line a left hand Cook Bros crank in a particular colour.
moaner
there are no phil wood dealers in belgium.
closest thing I can get is a tune Ti bb.
but I really want wood's. and a middleburn crank, that is also not distibuted here.
but with al those different sizes that came up the last 10 tears...

thx for the help anyway.

cheers.

Well I think the cranks are out of the UK so maybe a trip to some bike shops there would be the way to go. Looks like there's a good run of Phil Wood dealers in the UK too. They have an internet order form too so you could always hit that up.
